What makes us unique?

Nielsen & Senior has been an esteemed member Utah's legal community for over 100 years. Edwin W. Senior founded the firm of Senior & Senior in 1882 and, together with his sons, established a natural resource and commercial practice. In 1981, Senior & Senior merged with the litigation firm of Nielsen, Henriod, Gottfredson & Peck, headed by Arthur H. Nielsen, one of the most respected trial attorneys in Utah.

With the addition of other attorneys and mergers with small firms over time, Nielsen & Senior continues to diversify its expertise in employment, real estate, corporate, estate planning, land use, water, environmental, and municipal law.

Today, Nielsen & Senior attorneys honor the respected and vibrant practices of its predecessors by continuing a tradition of professional excellence. Nielsen & Senior attorneys are well-acquainted with Utah's people and their needs. They are committed to continual refinement and honing of their legal skills to meet the changing needs of their clients.

Community Work & Recognitions

Collectively, our attorneys have received a number of research and legal writing awards, scholastic excellence scholarships and ethics awards. Some are editors and writers for the Utah Law Review, the Utah Bar Journal, and the Brigham Young University Law Review. They serve in practice area sections within the Utah Bar Association and American Bar Association. Active in the community, Nielsen & Senior attorneys have volunteered time for domestic violence advocacy, Street Law Program at the Guadalupe School, religious freedom conferences, community planning boards, university advisory boards, rotary clubs, guardian ad litem program for children, and Boy Scouts of America.
